There will unfortunately be a delay in posting any actual stories here. I do have a few short stories completed but I won’t be able to post them until they’ve made the magazine rounds. The problem is that doing so actually counts as having them published, which means magazines are less likely to pick them up. Since it can easily take 2-4 months to get a response and most magazines only accept one submission at a time, I have a bit of a backlog. My stories will eventually end up on this page. I’m just not sure when. When a story gets picked up, it belongs to the publisher for the next 30-60 days and then I’ll be free to post them here after that time.
As for novel excerpts or sample chapters, there may never be any. The problem is that the novel is very likely to change once an agent gets hold of it and it’s likely to change again several times during the editing process once it gets to a publisher. Any sample chapters I post here will quite likely be very different from the final print version and I really don’t want seventeen versions of my unpublished works floating around. Also, like the magazines, some publishers would be put out by having sample chapters of a work available free online. Any material made available from a published work will need to be approved by all parties involved, not just me.
Basically, I’ve found that posting anything here before it sees print is almost a sure fire way to be sure it never does.
